Leonardo DiCaprio"s Greatest Movies to Date

103 15
Whether you like him or not, Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the most popular actors alive and will be for the foreseeable future (barring a Joaquin Phoenix meltdown).
I happen to fall into the former group; I think he's incredible and it is clear that at this point in time whatever movies he wants to do, he can.
But which of his films are the best? The following movies are my favorite Leonardo DiCaprio films in his already illustrious career.
Let's start out with The Basketball Diaries.
This movie is incredibly powerful and shows you what drugs can do to even the best athletes.
Leo stars as an up and coming basketball player who gets hooked on some really bad stuff.
Another movie of his that I feel makes the cut of his all time creates is the Martin Scorsese biopic, The Aviator.
This movie chronicles the life of Howard Hughes, an eccentric and troubled director/aviator during the 1920s.
If there ever was a role that Leonardo DiCaprio deserved to win an Oscar for, this was it.
Another great film that stars Leo is Blood Diamond.
Make no mistake, this is not an easy movie to get through.
I had trouble getting through the first scene of the movie, which rivals Saving Private Ryan's bloodiness.
A great movie nonetheless.
Inception was easily my favorite film of the year.
If this movie does not get at least nominated for Best Picture of The Year, it would be a serious shame.
After all, the reason they expanded the field to 10 movies in the first place was because Christopher Nolan's last film, The Dark Knight, did not get a nomination.
Who can make a list of Leonardo DiCaprio films and not include The Departed.
There is a reason that Leo was cast in the role of Billy Costigan, a cop on the wrong side of an undercover investigation.
His paranoia in this film rubbed off on me.
This movie is directed by the great Martin Scorcese and has an all star cast including Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin, Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen and the lovely Vera Farmiga.
These are just some of Leo's best films thus far.
I just looked up his iMDB page and it appears he has a whopping 22 films in the making! So don't be surprised if you see another article of this sort soon with even better films of his.
