What Removes Sticky Residue From Stickers?
- Duct tape can remove residue from clothing and other fabrics by applying and removing quickly. Use peanut butter as a laundry pre-treatment, letting it set for several minutes before the usual laundering. Goo Gone is a citrus-powered cleaner designed to remove sticky substances and is safe for fabrics, wood, glass, metal and carpet.
- For wood surfaces, a form of oil will loosen the goo for easy removal. Use baby oil, mineral oil, cooking oil or furniture polish. Apply any of these to the sticky area and wipe away with a cloth.
- Rubbing alcohol can be useful when removing sticky residue from glass or plastic. Apply the alcohol with a cotton swab or cotton ball and wipe away with a dry cloth after about five minutes. You can also use WD-40 for cleaning the glass and plastic surfaces. Just like alcohol, leave for a few minutes and wipe away with a dry cloth.
