    Device Capabilities

    • The Motorola v180e operates on the 850, 1800 and 1900 Mhz bands. Because of its multiband operation, it can be used in many countries across the globe. The device can be operated under your current carrier through roaming agreements while abroad. Or you can obtain a SIM card from a foreign carrier to use temporarily while overseas.

    Permissions and Unlocks

    • In order to utilize your v180e abroad, you need to contact your GSM service provider to either request that the ability to roam internationally be added to your account. Or you can request a subsidy unlock code to unlock your device for use with a foreign carrier. It is important to do this at least two weeks prior to any upcoming trips to ensure that the device is ready for use in time.

    Band Changes

    • Once you've obtained roaming permissions or have unlocked your device, it may be necessary to manually change the operating band once you arrive overseas. This can be done by initiating a manual network selection, which can be found by pressing "Menu," "Settings" and "Initial Set-up," then choosing it from there. The phone will scan for available networks and allow you to pick which carrier to use.
