Rubber is an element that is used for lot of purposes and hence it is often recycled.
One recent use for this element is in the form of a rubber mulch, which is nothing but a sheet of rubber spread on the floor.
This mulch is gaining popularity at the back lawns, gardens and front porch at various households as it is eco-friendly and at the same time prevents the grass from outside damage.

People are unaware of such a useful substance because the rubber mulch has still not gained commercial popularity.
Plus people prefer to expose grass lawns in their gardens as the lawns look better but the mulch these days are available in different types and colours.

Following are some of the advantages of mulch.
Mulch helps soil retain water.
It helps retain the existing water content making irrigation easier.
This retained water can also be used as groundwater by the residents.
There are different techniques involved in conserving water and one of those techniques combines drip irrigation.

Many houses have playgrounds and backyards for children to play on and hence the rubber mulch, when covered over grass, helps prevent children from getting injured as the surface is soft and smooth.

The rubber mulch prevent exposure of heat to the grass and hence serves as an insulator.
It is also easy to maintain than natural or synthetic grass.
For example, shredded bark mulch type, which is a by-product of the lumber industry, is made from cedar trees.
It is also less expensive than other sources.
Rubber does not absorb water since it is non-porous and helps prevent dampening of the soil underneath.

There are various forms through which the plant-based mulch can be obtained.
Mulch is usually obtained from shredded leave from the leaves that fall on the ground and these leaves are then shredded, since shredding reduces matting tendency, which ultimately serves as protection to your plants during winter.
These leaves also provide enough nutrients to your ground soil after they get decomposed over a period of time.
Rubber mulch are more advantageous over these plant-based mulch.
