How to Decorate a Church Bakery
- 1). Decide on a theme for the decorations. For example, during the winter season an appropriate theme could be Advent or Christmas.
- 2). Cover the bakery tables and any counters that are not being used for actual baking with tablecloths in the color palette of the event. For example, Christmas decorations would use red and green while an Easter event would incorporate pastel colors.
- 3). Ask Sunday school students to create posters to adorn the walls in the bakery. For Christmas, the posters could depict a nativity scene. The posters could also reflect various patron saints and even angels. The students could also make a welcome sign for the bakery entrance.
- 4). Create posters that also depict people working together baking in a kitchen. This imagery reflects the unity and harmony that should also be present in the real life bakery.
- 5). Hang the posters on the walls of the bakery and the welcome sign on the main door.
- 6). Place statues and figurines on shelves of the bakery depicting religious figures such as Jesus, Mary or saints such as Saint Peter.
- 7). Place decals on windows and glass cases that hold baked goods that depict religious imagery, such as the crucifix, an angel or even images of the Bible.
- 8). Place letter magnets on the metal appliances, such as an oven door or refrigerator door. Write out words associated with the Christian religion, such as "peace" and "love," with the letters. You could also write short prayers or verses from the Bible.
