How To Make Friends
Socialise- like we have previously mentioned, you are not going to make friends by staying in your house all day. You need to socialise around others, even if this consists of going to your local pub and just having casual conversations with the people in there. This will slowly lead to a strong friendship and become a regular thing to meet up with them.
Join a club- joining a club of something you are interested in is one of the easiest ways to make friends. As you have specifically chosen this club because you are interested in the hobby, there is a high chance that you will meet someone that will share the same interests and you will have things in common. This is a great chance to completely extend your friendship group as you may become friends with people you meet at these groups friends.
Start conversation- dont always expect everyone to come and speak to you first. Also, dont think that if people dont come and talk to you it means they dont want to. People can be shy and this is completely normal if you are too but you are not going to get anywhere if you just expect people to come and talk to you. Always try and make the first move by starting conversation with people, they will like your confidence and appreciate that you have spoken to them so they didnt have to come over to you. Even if you make small talk with someone, even just by starting off with introducing yourself and they will do the same and the conversation will grow.
Loyalty- when people have friends they expect them to be loyal, reliable and to be there for them when they need it. To be a good friend means being there when times are both good and bad. Also, remembering birthdays, initiating meeting up and doing things together and not letting them down last minute with poor excuses. You will not get very far with friends if you are not trustworthy, reliable or there for them when they need it. Always remain loyal to your friends; dont laugh at them if other people are, sticking up for them if they need it, and generally stick by their side.
