Can these lovers overcome the obstacles and unite or will each go his and her own way? These questions will not be answered in this review but are left to the reader to find out.
As the story progresses, however, most problems will be solved, and by the end of the novel, all loose ends will be tied.
The main characters are well defined, and each go through some change in their personalities even though their inner selves stay intact.
The one person who experiences an inner redemption is a young woman named Cynthia.
Other than that, villains stay villains and good guys on each side stay good guys.
With some situations, a character or two who weren't mentioned before suddenly turn up to help solve a problem at hand, but this should not be considered a negative as the writers integrates these characters masterfully into the plot.
The story is exciting and gripping, so much so that this reader could not put the book down willingly.
The storytelling is excellent, and for a relatively new author arriving at the romance genre's podium, it is a spectacular achievement.
This novel, although good for leisure reading, is gripping and exciting, and in a subtle way, makes serious social commentary.
