Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty Cheats
- Between "Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction," and the sequel "A Crack in Time," there was a short, single-chapter game entitled "Quest for Booty." In this game, the last Lombax, Ratchet, sets off on a quest to locate any information on his missing sidekick and friend, Clank. Ratchet forms an uneasy alliance with Rusty Pete--a pirate whose captain was defeated and deposed in the previous installment--as the insane pirate has information on an object that may reveal Clank's location. What keeps Ratchet safe with the pirate around is the right weapons for the job, and there are a few secrets that will make them even better.
- One of the last weapons you find in "Tools of Destruction," the Alpha Disruptor is available for purchase from the Smuggler on the beach of Hoolefar Island. You will need 50,000 bolts, and it becomes available after defending the island from the army of undead robot pirates.
- Upgrading the Combustor makes the fallout of its flame shots linger, causing damage to anyone who walks on or near it. You can find this upgrade after rescuing Talwyn. There's a stack of metal crates near the exit. Save a Fusion Grenade for them, because one of them contains the hidden modification.
- Concussion Detonators make your Fusion Grenades knock enemies back, and the Voltage Multiplier sends electricity arcing to other enemies from the tip of your Shock Ravager. On Hoolefar Island, an underwater cave hides in the bay. Swim down into it and you'll find some of these mods. Swim into the cave and destroy the gate with a Fusion Grenade. Grab a Helio Grub and head into the next room, where you'll find the Concussion Detonators. Blow up the next gate and climb the ledge. You'll discover another mod: Voltage Multiplier.
- The Tornado Launcher lets you shoot a full-blown tornado and control it using the Six-Axis controller. The Gyro Turbines make this tornado last longer and wreak more havoc. In Darkwater Cove, before you start the musical riddle, you may be able to find the mod. Before taking the Spring Pad, jump up and onto the netting. Climb up the platforms you find there to find the Gyro-Turbine.
- If you want to use a laser that freezes enemies on contact, you'll probably need something around zero kelvin--like the Zero-Kelvin Laser Diode. After taking out the Pythor, grab an extra Helio Grub and head left. Smash the crates and carefully cross the platforms to where you'll find the diode.
- The Predator Launcher locks onto targets and fires a missile at each one. With the dual-targeting laser, you can lock two missiles onto each target. Continue from the spot where you took down the Pythor until you find a Pirate Door on the left. You can blow this up with a Fusion Grenade, and save another one to blow up the metal crates inside. Take the jump pad to where the Laser mod is.
- The Alpha Disruptor is an incredibly powerful laser--but firing it through one enemy and into another makes it even more powerful. While taking on the pirate fleet, you'll have to free Talwyn again. After that, head to the end of the deck, climb the crates and take the zip line to the Transfluxor.
