About Las Vagas
- The newest hotels, biggest casinos and most advanced attractions line up on a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard known as The Strip. Older, more sedate and cheaper properties are clustered downtown.
- Prices skyrocket in the winter, on the weekends and during major holidays. For lower prices, visit mid-week or at the height of summer.
- The city's ultra-luxurious properties can cost thousands of dollars a night. Cheaper rates average around $100 per night or less, especially during the low season.
- You'll find traditional games such as black jack and roulette as well as high-tech ones such as video poker and slots in the many casinos. For the highest payouts, avoid properties on the Strip. Instead, try hotels downtown or on the edge of the city.
- The glitzy stage extravaganzas match anything on Broadway in quality and price. Tix 4 Tonight (see References) offers half-price admission to these entertainments.
