How to Replace the Dust Filter in a 2005 Honda Pilot
- 1). Park the 2005 Honda Pilot in a safe area. Move to the front passenger seat and open the glove box. Remove all of the contents from the glove box.
- 2). Remove the screws from the lower right-hand side kick panel near the passenger side door with a Phillips-head screwdriver
- 3). Hold the glove box open with one hand and remove the lower glove box stops. Pull the plastic glove box stops up so that the rollers on the glove box will come out.
- 4). Remove the two bolts below the glove box door with the 3/8-inch drive ratchet and a 3/8-inch socket. Then, pull the whole glove box assembly out and set it in the driver seat.
- 5). Locate the plastic cross brace in the glove box opening. Cut the plastic brace on both ends with the diagonal cutters and pull it out of the glove box opening.
- 6). Remove the glove box frame by removing the bolts and screws from the frame. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver and the 3/8-inch drive ratchet and socket to remove the screws and bolts. There are four bolts and four screws. Pull the glove box frame out and set it to the side.
- 7). Locate the lid to the cabin air filter housing in the lower part of the glove box opening. The lid is eight inches by two inches. Remove the lid with your hand and set it to the side.
- 8). Slide the cabin air filter straight out of the cabin air filter housing. Notice the direction of the arrow that is on the cabin air filter. The arrow on the new air filter needs to be pointing in the same direction.
- 9). Slide the new cabin air filter into the housing. Put the lid back over the front of the cabin air filter housing.

Reverse the same exact steps above for reinstalling the glove box hardware and the glove box.
