Scholarships for Working Women
- The Pennsylvania-based Berwick Business and Professional Women's Club offers a scholarship for women who live and work in the Greater Berwick area and are active in the community. Applicants wishing to advance their careers or rejoin the workforce are eligible for the scholarship. The club considers candidates who are 25 or older and U.S. citizens, with proven financial need and who have been accepted for studies at an accredited institution. Completing these studies within 12 to 24 months of receiving the scholarship is one of the terms of this award.
- The Arizona Business and Professional Women's Foundation assists the advancement of the state's working women through scholarships, research and education. Women 25 years or older who plan to go back to school to secure better job prospects are eligible for consideration. Candidates attending any Arizona community college or accredited trade school can apply for scholarship assistance. The foundation has a Non-Traditional Education for Women scholarship for candidates in an occupation where 25 percent or less of the jobs are held by women. Another option is the Women Who Made a Difference Scholarship, for which preference goes to applicants who are AZBPW members of two years or longer standing.
- Established in 1993 by eight of the top women chefs and restaurateurs in the U.S., Women Chefs & Restaurateurs supports the advancement of women in the culinary industry. WCR offers a selection of annual culinary school scholarships and professional internships. They are part of a program that includes international travel and wine studies. The culinary schools are WCR members and are site-specific, and the internships are in member restaurants. - The Burlington Business & Professional Women's organization supports women who strive to advance their careers. The Vermont Student Assistance Corp. administers the scholarship program. The Burlington Business & Professional Women's Scholarship dates back to the 1980s. Single parents enrolled in an accredited school, who prove financial need, and who live in Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle or Lamoille county are eligible. Established in the 2000s, the BPW Science and Technology Scholarship is for women of 25 years or older who pursue studies in a science or technology field. Financial need is not a requirement for this scholarship.
