    • 1). Park the Scout on a level surface. Place wheel chocks around the front wheels.

    • 2). Place a jack under the rear-end differential. Raise the Scout high enough to place jack stands under both ends of the axle. Lower the truck onto the jack stands.

    • 3). Place the jack under the fuel tank. The fuel tank is at the back of the Scout in front of the differential. Raise the jack to the bottom of the fuel tank.

    • 4). Unbolt the four bolts holding the two straps in place, using a socket wrench.

    • 5). Allow the tank to fall onto the jack. Lower the tank slightly to access the fuel lines at the top of the tank.

    • 6). Unscrew the hose clamps to loosen the fuel line with a socket wrench. Pull the fuel lines off the top of the tank. Disconnect any electrical lines.

    • 7). Pull the fuel feed line off at the back by loosening the hose clamp and pulling the hose off the back of the tank. This will free the tank from the truck.

    • 8). Lower the tank with the jack. Pull the tank out from underneath the truck.
