Smoking - A Thoughtful Approach to Quitting

How many times have you attempted to stop smoking? Smoking helps lessen anxiety so why would you want to stop? That's right...
smoking causes all kinds of diseases and ailments so quitting would probably be smart.
So I imagine you've tried the patch...
but the patch does not make you want to stop smoking, does it? Have you tried quitting smoking cold turkey? Have you tried that? I don't know many people who have stopped smoking by quitting cold turkey.
Actually, when you consider about it, the relief you feel from smoking cigarettes is a lot like the alleviation you feel when you do breathing exercises.
Both decrease ones anxiety.
Not familiar with what breathing exercises are? Basically, you just breathe in...
keep your breath for a minuscule period of time (maybe 6 or 7 seconds)...
and then breathe out slowly for about 7 seconds or so.
Does this sound familiar? It is a lot like when you are smoking...
without holding the cigarette of course.
So I am questioning if people proceed to smoke because they are addicted...
which I am sure is a big part of it...
or also because the type of breathing they do while they smoke helps ease anxiety just like smoking itself.
Another affective way to quit smoking is to join a program...
but make certain that you join one that actually has shown to be effective.
There are "stop smoking programs" out there that are very successful...
they have success rates of at least 95%.
That means that out of every 100 people, 95 succeed in quitting smoking.
