How to Install an Earpiece to a Samsung Phone

    Wired headsets

    • 1). Locate the headset port on your phone. This is usually on the side or top of the phone, but can be on the bottom as well. Some older Samsung phones require a special headset or adapter; the newer phones provide the same jack for both headsets and regular headphones.

    • 2). Insert the headset connector into the jack. Your phone should emit a beep through the headset speaker and display a headset icon on the toolbar.

    • 3). Place the headset on your ears, or the earbuds in your ears, depending on the model, and position the microphone near you mouth or jaw. Check the volume/mute button to make sure that sound is enabled.

    Bluetooth Headsets

    • 1). Press the "Phone" button or "Power" button on your Bluetooth headset to power it on. If nothing happens, you battery may be dead; connect the headset to the power adapter for a recharge.

    • 2). Turn on your phone and activate the "Settings" menu. Select "Wireless" and then "Bluetooth." Activate Bluetooth if it is not already on. Select "Search" or "Pair."

    • 3). Put your headset into "Discoverable" mode. The method for this varies, but it usually involves holding the "Phone" button or "Power" button down for several seconds. When the LED flashes and/or the speaker beeps repeatedly, your headset is ready to be paired.

    • 4). Select the headset and press "Connect" when it appears on the phone's screen. Wait for the pairing process to complete. If you're asked for a PIN code, enter "0000" or "1234." The majority of these simple devices don't use a PIN at all, but of those that do, 99 percent use one of these two PIN options. An icon will appear on the phone's toolbar when the pairing is completed.

    • 5). Place the Bluetooth headset on your ear. When a call comes in, press the "Phone" button to answer or the "End" button to decline a call. Adjust the volume level with the volume buttons.
