    • 1). Express a sum of money in whole numbers within the body of your paper to follow APA publication manual formatting rules. Format a sum of money with the dollar sign preceding it and a period in between the dollar and cents as follows: "Participants were paid $5.25 for their participation in this study's survey."

    • 2). Cite monetary amounts within the body of your paper in whole numbers as part of a direct quote from one of your research sources as follows: "According to Jones (2010), the average subway worker in New York earns $6.44 per hour."

    • 3). List any works that you cite in-text for monetary references as you would any other work - alphabetically by author last name in your Works Cited page at the end of your paper. Create Works Cited entries for every work you mention within the body of your paper, including works by single authors as follows: "Jones, D. (2010). Article title. Journal Title in Italics, Journal edition number in italics, page numbers."
