How to Wire Money to a Debit Card
- 1). Call the bank that issued your debit card to verify the receive code, the routing number if you do not have checks and the bank's recommended wiring service. Record this information and store it for future use.
- 2). Find the recommended wiring service in your area to make your wire transaction to your debit card. Fill out the form. The ExpressPayment form with MoneyGram requires the numbers on the front of the debit card and the receive code for the banking institution, as well as the money amount and your signature. The form does not require your bank account number or routing number. Western Union does require this information for its Direct to Bank transaction, as well as the bank name, amount and signature. Western Union does not require a receive code or the numbers on the front of your debit card.
- 3). Submit your form to the agent who will process your wire transaction for a fee. MoneyGram ExpressPayment service will wire your money to your debit card in a matter of minutes. With Western Union's Direct to Bank service, it will take up to three to five business days before the money becomes available in your account.
