How to Make a Jump Turn on Skis
- 1). Shift your weight from your downhill ski to your uphill ski.
- 2). Lift your downhill ski by raising your knee. The combination of the first two steps will force your upper body to face downhill.
- 3
Plant your downhill pole. This point of contact with the snow will serve as your pivot point. - 4). Lift your uphill ski by raising your knee.
- 5
Keep your hips at the same height as if you had both skis on the snow. The jumping motion takes place beneath your waist. - 6). Bring your skis together so they're parallel.
- 7). Twist your ankles so your skis swing around.
- 8
Tilt your skis slightly into the hill to create a new edge with the snow. - 9). Look downhill throughout the turn.
- 10
Prepare for the next turn.
