    Organize Elements

    • Before creating your scrapbook page, place pictures, graphics and other items you want to include on your scrapbook page in one folder on your computer. Name the folder "Scrapbook Elements" or something similar. If you plan on printing the scrapbook page, load the type of paper you want into your computer's printer.

    Select Pictures/Graphics

    • Open Jasc Paint Shop Pro Studio by clicking the program's icon or clicking the program's name on the "All Programs" menu. Click "File," then "Browse" to navigate to the folder containing your page elements. Double-click the element's thumbnail to open the file. Click the picture/graphic. Click "Image," then "Picture Frame" to add a frame around the picture or graphic. The "Picture Frame" dialog box will open. Select the frame and orientation you want. Click "OK."

Click "Layers," "Merge," then "Merge All" to merge the frame with the picture/graphic. This will make it easier to lay out the framed picture/graphic. Repeat steps for each picture/graphic you want to use in your layout. Click "File," then "Save As." Enter a name for your framed picture/graphic. Click "Save." Do not close the pictures/graphics; leave them open so you can quickly move them to the layout later.

    Create Scrapbook Layout

    • Click "File," then "New." Enter the width and height of the layout page you want in the open dialog box. Select "Inches" in the "Units" box. Leave the "Resolution" at 200 if you plan on printing the page. If you are going to display the page on the Internet or send it via email, select a resolution of 90 or lower. Click "OK."

Select the "Flood Fill Tool" from the Tools toolbar. Click the "Foreground Swatch" on the Materials palette. Click the "Pattern" tab. Scroll and select a pattern for your scrapbook page. Click "OK." Click once inside the new document to fill it with the selected pattern. Click "File," then "Save As." Enter a name for your scrapbook page. Click "Save."

    Add Pictures and Graphics

    • Click the first picture/graphic you want to add to the page. If you need to adjust the size of a picture/graphic, click the corner of the title bar and drag it to a different size. Place your mouse over the "Background" layer on the Layer palette. You will see a thumbnail of your selected picture. Click the wording "Background." Drag the layer onto any area of the page. Repeat steps for the next picture/graphic you want to place on the page.

You can also resize elements by selecting the "Deform" tool from the "Tools" toolbar. A red box will appear around the picture or other element. Right-click one of the corners around the picture/element, and drag the corner to the size you want.

    Add Text and Printing

    • To add text to your page, click the "Text" tool on the "Tools" toolbar. To print the scrapbook page, click "File," "Print," "OK."
