Inherent types of snow skiing

Normally, the Winter sports are a  great fun, they are a  great way to stay in a required shape and can also enjoy the winter. The Snow skiing is one of the most  popular winter sports. Starting from the expert skiers to very small children, all are able to enjoy the slopes of the Snow Mountains.

The Equipments required for the snow skiing are the skis and pair of poles. The Skis used today are made up of plastic, polyurethane foam and some other material. Traditionally, the skis are made up of highly polished wood. So the skis are generally different in size and styles, depending on the type of skiing. There are different ways of doing snow skiing, they are  cross-country, downhill, back country skiing, hell ski, snow cat skiing and ski jumping. The Special boots are attached to the skis and they are bind ed together.

The important use of poles is the personal choice, where each pole has their own wrists wrap on top, the sharp tip on bottom and circular ring  from the tip to prevent from sinking into snow. Then Depending upon the varying snow conditions, the skis are waxed for maximum glide. Along with the skis, the boots and poles, ski helmet to for protecting your head, good pair of goggles for eyes and plenty of warm clothing are required for skiing.

Snow Skis for Various Skiing Activities:

There are different kinds of skis used  in this sport. Here are some of the popular snow skis. They are,

Alpine Skiing: This kind of skiing has evolved a lot through the years and it is the downhill type of skiing where the skiers employ the acrobatics and other tricks like jumps, rails, jibs. This type of snow skiing helps the skiers perform more daring stunts and jumps. The Snow skis also evolved with the sport to help the people who indulge in these variations to perform their tricks, jumps, and turns better with the greater ease.

Nordic or Cross-country Skiing: This kind of skiing is actually the oldest skiing type and it is developed in Scandinavia. It was first used as a way for the people to travel around in the winter and not as a sport of a recreational activity. This kind of skiing involves going up, down, or moving around on a flat snowy surface. This type of skiing also requires a different pair of snow skis as compared to the other alpine skiing.

Alpine Skis: These snow skis first began their evolution as a couple of plain wood planks which  slowly develop into a sophisticated and aerodynamic tools. There are a variety of alpine ski designs which are designed specifically for this sport.

Twin Tip Skis: This type of skis involves the upturned ends. These are the snow skis that are usually used for aerial acrobatics and other stunts.

Telemark Skis: The Telemark skis are used for the downhill skiing or touring. This ski has bindings that are only attached to the toe.

Cross-country Skis:The Cross-country skis are lighter and narrower than the other ski types. So, that they can be used in different kinds of terrain. The Bindings for cross-country skis may vary from other snow skis. There are cross-country skiing with three binding systems and some have the single toe-binding design used in the Telemark skis.
