How to Change the Power Button on a Vista Start Menu
- 1). Open the Start menu and click "Control Panel."
- 2). Click "System and Maintenance" and select "Power Options" from the available system and maintenance tasks.
- 3). Click "Change Plan Settings" under the current power plan. When the "Edit Plan Settings" window opens, click the "Change Advanced Power Settings" option.
- 4). Click the "+" next to the "Power Buttons and Lid" item to expand the power buttons list. Locate the "Start Menu Power Button" entry in the list and click the "+" next to it.
- 5). Choose the setting that you want to serve as the default for the power button from the "Settings" list and click it. Click the "OK" button to accept the settings change.
- 6). Close the Edit Plan Settings window and other open windows. The power button will now perform the action you chose as its default setting.
