Experience the Colorado Spirit
Colorado's history dates back to a time in which the inhabitants lived off the earth and learned to fend for themselves among harsh weather and rugged conditions; and while Colorado has grown into a state, full of culture, delicious Colorado cuisine, and beautiful architecture, the hardiness that dwells among its inhabitants is proof that the spunk of the past is still present today.
With the summer vacation season just around the corner, Colorado mountain vacations are starting to fill up fast. From horseback riding and flyfishing lessons to Colorado ATV tours, to jaw-dropping hikes up some of Colorado's 53 "fourteeners", a mountain vacation is sure to suit everyone's needs.
Colorado ATV rentals are the perfect outing for a family with older children. Spend the day exploring the rugged terrain of the Arapahoe National Forest. When book an ATV trip, keep in mind that many ATV rental outfits mandate that guests be 14 years of age or older in order to drive the machine and at least 18 years old to drive with a passenger. With hundreds of trails to choose from, an ATV adventure is the perfect way to unwind and let your sense of adventure carry you away.
Horseback riding in Colorado is another great experience for the whole family. Many outfits feature guided horseback riding tours around the area. The guides cherish the opportunity to share the exciting history of the region and allow their guests the chance to view the surrounding panoramas. While taking advantage of these thrilling experiences, expect to encounter changing weather conditions. The mountains of Colorado are known for their epic lightening storms and extreme temperature fluctuations to roll in over the peaks during the summer months.
Speaking of scenery, many Colorado mountain vacations are situated deep among the scenery that surrounds them. Lush evergreen forests, deep mountain rivers, and jagged snow-capped peaks permeate the experience and allow you to embrace the wildness of the west.
Colorado ATV Tours at Aspen Canyon Dude Ranch, a guest ranch vacation spot in the quaint Williams Fork Valley, was the best kind of adventure. After a comprehensive safety brief, we hopped on our brand new ATV rentals and spent the day exploring 150 miles of trails in the Arapahoe National Forest. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and worked hard to gain insight into each of the guest's expectations. I stayed at Aspen Canyon over the summer and also participated in the fly fishing lessons on the Williams Fork River, which runs through the center of Aspen Canyon Ranch. I understand that Aspen Canyon also offers snowmobiling in the winter, so you can bet that we will be back to experience a winter dude ranch vacation.
