The Skin and How to Pamper It
Are you tired and stressed? Take time out for yourself and pamper your skin with a facial.
It may help you relax and relieve some tension.
I will give you some facts about the skin and then instructions on how to do a facial.
The Skin 1.
The skin is the largest organ in the body measuring 20 square feet.
The face and neck, measuringcontrolled factors: sleep: need 7-8 hours water: need 6 to 8 glasses nutrition: balanced and healthy diet exercise: revives circulation and reduces negative affects of stress stress: blemishes, loss colour, circles under eyes, tense facial expressions lining skin.
toxic substances: smoking,alcohol, caffeine, medication, harsh soaps , chemicals - uncontrolled factors: natural ageing: child-adolescent-adult-post-menopause New skin cells are forming all the time, then flatten and loose moisture as they move up the epidermis layer, and then sloughed off for replacement.
This process is quicker in younger skin than older skin.
Hence the longer the process the more prone the skin is to moisture loss.

A recommended daily skin care routine is: CLEANSE - to remove makeup and dirt without damaging skin TONE- to finish cleansing process - to leave skin in optimal condition eg ph level - prepares skin for moisturizer MOISTURISE You can also use supplementary products like exfoliates, eye products, specialty moisturizers depending on time of day for use and age.
Here are the steps on how to pamper your skin with a facial.
Do as often as you like.
1.
Remove Eye Makeup: Gently work eye makeup remover into lashes, brow and eye area.
Remove with a damp cloth.
2.
Cleanse: Dot cleanser around face and neck.
Place fingers of both hands in the middle of the forehead and stroke gently outwards, then down the nose, around the nostrils, across the cheeks and chin and use upward strokes on the neck.
3.
Tone: Dampen two cotton pads with water and toner and follow the same steps as the cleanser.
4.
Exfoliate: Dot exfoliating scrub on wet face (avoid eye area ) and massage gently with circular motions instead of strokes,using the steps as in the cleanser.
You should be able to get three row of circular motions on the cheek moving up and outwards.

Tone: As in 3 above.
6.
Massage Face: Prepare a mixture of 2/3 night moisturizer and 1/3 moisturizing serum.
Forehead: Massage upward from the center of the forehead starting between the eyes ( 4 times ), slide fingers along the hairline, finishing with pressure at the temples.
( Total movement 3 times ) Eye: Go gently around eye, ring finger and apply pressure up into the eye sockets.
Nose/Mouth: Stroke both sides of the nose 6 times using the hand that is the opposite side to the nose ( ie left nostril- right hand ) one side at a time.
Massage with ring finger around the nostrils 6 times.
Begin below the lips, massaging up and around the mouth the mouth, meeting at the 'cupids bow' and stroke downwards, repeat 6 times.
Cheeks: Commencing at chin circle up cheeks.
7.
Tone: As in 3 above 8.
Masques: Follow instructions on your product.

Eye Balm: Pat on gently.
