Carnie Wilson has had a very public struggle with weight. In 1999, the Wilson Phillips singer underwent gastric bypass surgery live on the internet. In 2006, reality TV cameras were rolling as she tried to shed some of the pounds she gained during her pregnancy. As one of the stars of Celebrity Fit Club 4, a reality show on which celebrities battle the bulge while competing for cash and prizes, Carnie had to stay away from her favorite foods and exercise like she had never exercised before.

Along the way, she also made some great friends. Here?s what she had to say about the Fit Club experience.

Why did you decide to do Celebrity Fit Club?

It wasn?t anything I ever thought I would do. After all the years of the weight loss and the public surgery, I thought ?Uh-oh! People are going to think I gained all my weight back and the surgery didn?t work or something like that -- which isn?t true. I decided to do it because I needed to lose the rest of my baby weight. I just could not lose it. I was a fan of Celebrity Fit Club for the last season and I thought ?God, I wonder if I could ever be on that show?? I forgot about it and let it go. Less than a month later, they called me. And I thought ?Oh, this is the sign from God.? So I did it.

Are you allowed to reveal how much weight you lost?

No, we?re not allowed to reveal the pounds but I did well. It was an absolutely amazing experience. I was so depressed when it was over. I was, physically, very challenged. I faced my fears. I made great friends.

It was really hard. It was really freaking hard.
