How Can I Kill Sagebrush?
- 1). Prepare to kill the sagebrush plants with a chemical herbicide. Put on long clothes (pants and shirt), a chemical-resistant apron and gloves, protective shoes, and safety glasses to avoid exposure to the herbicide.
- 2). Mix 2,4-D Lo-V Ester with water in a bucket. Read the 2,4-D Lo-V Ester label to determine the specific ratio of herbicide and water recommended for killing your specific sagebrush species. Thoroughly mix the diluted 2,4-D Lo-V Ester solution.
- 3). Pour the diluted 2,4-D Lo-V Ester solution into a pump sprayer. Spray the 2,4-D Lo-V Ester solution onto the sagebrush foliage while the plants are blooming. Sagebrush plants' blooming seasons vary from late May to August, depending on the species.
- 4). Wait for the sagebrush plants to die. Do not treat the sagebrush plants with 2,4-D Lo-V Ester again until their next blooming season.
