How to Be a Spiritual Leader in a Relationship

104 27
    • 1). Develop spiritual maturity. A man who wants to be the spiritual leader in his relationship needs to develop serious spiritual maturity that is the result of hours dedicated to God. He needs to be able to lead his wife and eventually his children by doing things such as arranging a family devotional time, taking the family to church and listening to his wife's problems and concerns with compassion. A man develops spiritual maturity by spending time in prayer, worshiping at church and studying the Bible on a daily basis.

    • 2). Learn how to manage finances. This may seem like a mundane task, but financial irresponsibility is a mark of immaturity. A true spiritual leader will not let something as important as money be handled the wrong way; he will budget his money, tithe according to Deuteronomy 14:22-29 and give freely to those who need assistance. His wife will be able to count on him to bring money home to support her and also put some in savings for potential emergencies.

    • 3). Demonstrate your beliefs. You may say you believe what the Bible says and claim to have integrity; however, if you actually follow through with your beliefs by being honest and keeping your word, you will show that you are serious about being a spiritual leader.

    • 4). Learn to communicate. A man who does not communicate with his wife, family or others is doing them a disservice by holding back his encouragement and love. You will need to communicate with people at your job, at church and at home; learning how to do it will help you become the spiritual leader you want to be in order to direct your relationship in a godly direction.
