At the safe house, EJ tries to soothe a crying Allie when Lexie arrives. EJ thanks his sis for coming so quickly, stating how Allie’s been up all night with a fever. Lexie examines Allie and asks if Johnny’s had any symptoms. EJ says he’s fine. She then questions where Sami is.
Lexie later reveals that Allie has croup and needs to get some moisture to her lungs via steam. She tells EJ to give Allie ibuprofen for her fever and advises him to stay in the bathroom with her and run the shower.
EJ appears as an overly concerned father, but Lexie assures him that it’s very common among infants. He confesses how he loves Allie as much as he loves Johnny. Lexie displays concern for EJ, since she knows what it’s like to love a child which she has no claim to. She reiterates her previous question as to where Sami is. EJ demurs that she’s visiting Lucas in jail. Lexie gently reminds EJ that Lucas and Sami love each other, and he needs to accept it. EJ understands that Sami just can’t shut down her emotions, but reminds her how he and Sami share a child. Lexie warns him that he’s in a very dicey situation. He notes how Sami trusted him enough to leave him alone with Allie. Lexie reminds him how his history with Sami hasn’t exactly shown him that he’s earned her trust. EJ claims it doesn’t matter, since he’ll be there at the end of the day and Lucas won’t be. She advises him to stop thinking about Lucas and Sami and just concentrate on taking care of the twins. EJ heads upstairs as Lexie receives a page.
She makes the call and informs her recipient that she’ll give specifics on her patient when she gets back to the hospital, as apparently more tests are needed on Bo.
Before Lexie leaves, she tells EJ to call if he or Sami has any questions about Allie. EJ thanks her and remarks how helpful it is having a big sister as a doctor. EJ then asks her if she’s been thinking about Stefano. She’s convinced they made the right decision, but admits that it’s been the most difficult decision of her life. He briefly hugs her and assures her that they did the right thing and now they can all get on with their lives.
EJ later comes down the stairs and asks Lexie if she’s okay. Lexie looks as though she’s ready to burst with excitement as she remarks how it’s been the strangest week for her at the hospital, with Stefano’s situation and finding out that someone she loves is sick. A beaming Lexie stammers before revealing that Kayla Johnson is pregnant.
Sami visits Lucas in jail. Lucas asks if she brought Allie, but Sami reiterates that she’s sick and with EJ. Lucas doesn’t want his daughter anywhere near EJ, though. Sami claims she didn’t have a choice, but assures him that Lexie will come over and examine Allie. She’s convinced that Lucas’s lawyer will find a way to get him out of there, but Lucas gravely informs her that he’s going away, and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it. Sami insists he can get away with this, since there’s only circumstantial evidence against him. “It’s over. I pled guilty to the attempted murder of EJ DiMera,” he announces. She urges him to change his plea, but he affirms that he’s made his decision. He claims he has no remorse towards EJ, but feels horrible about what he did to Sami and their family. She insists that his little girl will need him and begs him to change his plea. Lucas wishes he could change a lot of things, like the fact that she appointed herself savior of her family and the fact that EJ got her pregnant. He admits that he wishes he was a better shot and tells her not to wait for her. “Depending on the judge, I’ll get ten to twenty years,” he predicts. Sami is despondent by this and speculates that Allie won’t even know him. Lucas doesn’t want to fight or hear what kind of idiot he is. “I wanted to say good-bye to you. I wanted to hold you in my arms one last time, tell you how much I love you. I’ll never love anybody like I love you,” he professes as he holds her. He asks her to promise him that she’ll never stop loving him. “Lucas, you are my one and only love. And I will never, ever love anyone the way that I love you,” she cries. They share a loving kiss before he puts on a strong face and asks her to tell Allie how much he loves her. Sami leaves the room sobbing.
At the St. Abban Bed & Breakfast in New Ross, Ireland, Shawn and Belle enjoy having their daughter back as Claire enjoys her dessert. Grandpa Shawn, Steve, and Kayla enter. Claire gives her great-grandpa a kiss as he relishes on having her back. Belle later takes Claire upstairs while Shawn escorts his grandpa upstairs. Steve wonders if they should’ve told Grandpa Shawn already, noting how frail he’s looking. Kayla predicts there will be joy in store for her pop.
Outside, Philip remarks to Chloe how beautiful it is in Ireland. Chloe apologizes for not being the best of company and admits how worried she is about Brady. Philip wonders if she’s really worried about Brady or if she’s more worried about being charged and arrested with his disappearance. She refers to him as ridiculous and questions if he’s truly sincere about keeping the peace with Shawn or if he still intends to steal his wife and child. Philip suggests they just keep walking. Phil later declares that he’s done making a fool out of himself chasing after Belle. Chloe is dubious, though, and challenges him to show her that he’s ready to move on without Belle. Philip challenges Chloe to prove that she had nothing to do with Brady’s disappearance. He says he will keep his men on retainer until they find Brady, reminding her that Brady’s his nephew. Chloe thanks him. Belle, Shawn, and Claire then emerge. The tension is in the air as Phil asks about Claire. While Shawn takes Claire aside, Belle fills them in on how Crystal and Rob actually did a good job taking good care of Claire. Belle then questions if Colleen knows anything about Brady and admits that she’s really worried about him. Shawn reveals to Phloe that Grandpa Shawn is there. Phil invites the Bradys to have dinner with them, but Shawn says they’ll let him know. Chloe notes to Philip how awkward the encounter was.
