My iPod Touch Will Not Turn on But it Is Fully Charged
- Powering on the iPod touch takes a few seconds. Press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" button, which is the bar on top of the device, until the Apple logo appears.
- Sometimes the iPod touch needs to be reset if it is unresponsive. Press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" button at the top of the device and the round "Home" button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds. Release when the Apple logo appears and wait for the device to power on as normal.
- It is possible that while you think your iPod touch is fully charged, it actually is not. It may not have charged if the port or outlet you used wasn't working. Plug it into a power source that you are sure works and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. If you are using a computer, ensure that the computer is on and not in a "sleep" or "hibernate" mode. Once you have tried charging it using a different method, try powering on again.
- The iPod touch may be unresponsive because its hardware was damaged. This might be the case if it was dropped or smashed, submerged in water or exposed to extreme temperatures. The battery itself might also be at the end of its workable life. Take the device to an Apple specialist to determine if any of this could be causing the problem. You may be able to repair your iPod or replace the battery, but it might also be time to get a new one.
