How to Keep Sentry 11 Wax Guards From Falling Out
- 1). Set the necessary items on a flat work surface. Place a towel under the items to prevent them from rolling off.
- 2). Use your thumb and forefinger to gently pull the hearing device from each ear. Some instruments have thin cords attached to the device specifically for assistance in the removal process. Do not remove the device by pulling on the battery door.
- 3). Slide the forked end of the tool under the wax guard and pull upward to remove the wax guard. The forked tool is included in the tool care set provided with each set of hearing devices.
- 4). Select a wax guard from the card. The red colored wax guards are intended for use in the right device and the blue colored wax guards are intended for use in the left device.
- 5). Remove the wax guard from the front side of the card using the opposite end of the forked device which contains a "nub." The front side of the card is indicated by colored arrows.
- 6). Insert the new wax guard into the appropriate hearing device. Remove the tool when the tip of the wax guard is inserted into the device.
- 7). Press down on the top of the wax guard firmly until the bottom of the guard is butted up against the device.
