How to Change the Boot Sequence in BIOS
- 1). Turn on your computer and read the instructions typically shown toward the bottom of the screen in the first stages of the boot process. Launching the BIOS options depends on the access key programmed by the computer's motherboard manufacturer. This is typically one of the function keys, such as "F2," or the "Delete" key. Press the designated key during the boot-up process, before Windows loads.
- 2). Go to the BIOS' "Advanced Features" as shown on its main page, or the BIOS' "Boot" tab, which also depends on the motherboard model your computer uses.
- 3). Select the device you wish to modify. Arrange the devices' order by pressing the "Page Up" and "Page Down" keys, the "Enter" key or other combinations. The BIOS' on-screen instructions are listed at the bottom or at the side of the screen.
- 4). Save all settings and exit the BIOS options, typically by pressing the "F10" key. The new boot sequence will take effect when you restart the computer.
