Homemade Halo Costume Directions
- 1). Navigate to the Google Images Web site and enter the search term "Master Chief Halo." Use the wide array of images of the armor from different angles displayed in the results as your guide.
- 2). Lay your cardboard on a flat surface and sketch onto it each piece of Master Chief's armor, including his helmet. Notice that each piece of his armor is three-dimensional, so make each piece big enough so that you can bend it into its three-dimensional shape or create each piece using a few different strips of cardboard.
- 3). Cut out each of your armor sketches and bend them or tape them together to form each part of the Master Chief costume. Put on your black body suit, black gloves and black shoes. If you don't have a black body suit, you can use a dark-colored long sleeve T-shirt and dark pants.
- 4). Put on the helmet and place each of the other pieces of body armor on your body, hands and shoes--but don't tape them in place yet--to ensure they are of the right size. Make any adjustments by cutting them, bending them or re-taping them together.
- 5). Cover the outer surface of each armor piece and the helmet with duct tape to make it look the color of Master Chief's armor. Make sure there are no creases or rips in the tape so that your armor's surface is as smooth as possible.
- 6). Draw onto each piece of armor the details you notice in your guiding images using your black marker. These drawings give your armor a robotic look.
- 7). Tape each piece of the armor in place with more duct tape.
