How to Draw Girls With Longer Hair
- 1). Sketch the face. Make a large oval shape or a shape of a guitar pick, with the narrow point facing down. Draw a basic stick figure to represent the neck, torso, arms and legs.
- 2). Draw a skinny figure eight on top of the torso part of your stick drawing. Line the top of your figure eight with where you want the shoulders of your girl to be.
- 3). Start drawing in the lines of the girl's figure on top of the guidelines you've made. Fill in her arms, soften her waist, draw the lines of each individual leg. Erase your figure eight and stick figure lines when you're done.
- 4). Draw in a tight succession of tick marks across the forehead of your girl. These will represent her bangs. Alternatively, draw a curve that extends from the top left corner of one part of her forehead, down to the bottom right corner. This will represent sideswept bangs.
- 5). Draw a curved line starting from the top of her head down to past the girl's right elbow or even farther. Repeat this curved line on the left side.
- 6). Draw small horizontal tick marks from the bottom of each line, indicating the bottom of the hair.
- 7). Add lines to indicate texture and volume. Draw swirls, waves and curlicues. Add layers to create contour, simply by creating bold strokes with your pencil. Shade in areas of the hair to create shine.
