How to Troubleshoot a Troy-Bilt Rototiller
- 1). Check that the ON/OFF switch is in the "on" position.
- 2). Check the fuel tank for enough fuel. Check the fuel line for any clogs and clear them, if necessary.
- 3). Examine the fuel for water or to see if it is stale. Drain the tank and replace with new fuel.
- 4). Ensure the spark plug wire is not damaged and properly connected to the spark plug.
- 5). Remove the spark plug to see if it is fouled or damaged. Clean it, re-gap it or replace it if damaged.
- 6). Check if the air filter is dirty, Clean or replace the filter, as needed.
- 7). Ensure that the choke lever is in the correct position.
- 1). Check that the spark plug wire is working properly and is attached correctly to the spark plug.
- 2). Remove the spark plug and check if it requires cleaning. Wipe the spark plug off. Check that the gap is correct. Replace the plug, if damaged.
- 3). Examine the air filter to see if it needs cleaning. Clean the filter or replace it, if needed.
- 4). Check that the gas is fresh. If not, replace it with fresh gas.
- 5). Examine the carburetor to see if it needs to be adjusted.
- 1). If the engine is overheating, check if the cooling system is clogged and remove any debris blocking the system.
- 2). If the tines are not rotating, examine the tines for any obstructions and remove them.
- 3). For any other problems, contact an authorized Troy-Bilt service center.
