How to Remove the Climate Control from a Del Sol
- 1). Remove the center console. The process may vary slightly depending on the car's model year. Remove the cup holders by springing the clips. Next, remove the ashtray and center glove box. A screwdriver, ratchet wrench and possibly pliers will be needed.
- 2). Remove the car's radio. How to do so can vary with the type of stereo system. If the stereo is held in place by mounted clips, spring the mounted clips using a U-shaped tool. It can be homemade or bought at a hardware store. If the stereo is bolted, remove the bolts and screws with a wrench and screwdriver.
- 3). Unplug the air mix control cable from car heater. This cable has a few connection areas. One is the cable outer housing, which is on the rear left side of the panel in a plastic covering. The other connection zone is where the wire cable connects to the temperature control lever. This part is flat and metal.
- 4). Remove the screws at the top of the radio slot.
- 5). Unplug the other electrical devices on the climate control panel.
- 6). Remove the Del Sol's climate control panel.
