DIY First Birthday Invitations
- 1). Choose a set of blank postcards and envelopes to use for the homemade first birthday party invitations. Heavy card stock will work best for these invitations.
- 2). Squirt some acrylic paint onto a paper plate. Choose a color that coordinates with party decorations you plan to use.
- 3). Use a paintbrush to apply the paint to one of your baby's hands or one of her feet. Doing this with a paintbrush will be neater and will allow for a more even application than if you merely pressed her hand or foot into the paint.
- 4). Press the hand or foot on the side of the postcard that you will write the party information on. Do so to the right or the left, leaving room for the party information. Continue until all of the invitations have a hand or footprint. Allow the paint to completely dry before moving on.
- 5). Turn the postcard to the other side.
- 6). Take a copy of the picture of the birthday girl that you have chosen to feature on the invitation.
- 7). Use a glue stick to attach the picture to the front of the postcard. Allow the glue to dry completely.
- 8). Turn the card back over and use a marker to write the party information on it, such as the time, place and location of the party.
- 9). Place the cards in the envelopes and send them to all of the people you are inviting to the birthday party.
