How to Build a LEGO Crane
- 1). Attach a 2-by-8 base plate to the top of a 2-by-4 base plate so the bottom plate is the center. The two should overlap to form a lopsided X.
- 2). Place 2-by-1 clips to the left and right sides of the bottom base plate. Sit a 2-by-2 base plate in between these two, then sit two more 1-by-2 pieces on either side.
- 3). Snap a 2-by-2 lazy susan in the center. Sit 2-by-2 wheeled base plates on the bottom of the front and back of the piece.
- 4). Sit a 2-by-4 round hinge on top of a 4-by-4 base plate separate from the first piece. Place 1-by-8 base plates down each side, one peg from the front.
- 5). Place a 4-by-8 base plate on top of the piece to make a roof-like structure, then flip the piece over. Add a 2-by-2 base plate at the back of the piece, then flip back over.
- 6). Add 1-by-1 pieces with pegs on the two front corners. Add a 2-by-2 base plate between them, and 1-by-1 pieces at the rear corners of the base plate.
- 7). Snap a 1-by-4 brick along the back, then a 2-by-2 brick indirectly in front. Place 1-by-1 bricks at the corners of the 2-by-2 bricks.
- 8). Put a 4-by-1 base plate on top of the left and right sides, then a 2-by-4 base plate in between them. Sit a seat and steering column in between these raised platforms.
- 9). Place an 8-by-2 base plate on the back of the front hinge, then fix another rounded hinge joint to the top of that.

Place a 4-by-2 base plate with a rounded front onto the second side of the hinge. Snap a crane bucket inside this rounded front. - 11
Press the top of the cab onto the lazy susan on the base of the vehicle.
