Rockland, Maine, is located south of Bangor and is located on the Gulf of Maine. Maine is one of the top states for lobster production. Rockland hosts the annual Maine Lobster Festival every year in August. According to the Maine Lobster Council, lobster production in Maine generated more than $228.5 million in 2009. The harvest is most intense from June through December, although harvesters work all year long capturing lobster. - The Camden Harbour Inn has received many honors from prestigious organizations like the National Geographic Traveler, Travel and Leisure, the New York Post and Brides magazine. Natalie's is a full-service restaurant located within the hotel that has also received many awards. The chef procures local fresh fish and produce for the menu, and besides an extensive a la carte menu, diners can choose from the Homard Grand Cru/Grand Lobster Menu during the summer and fall to experience a four-course tasting menu featuring lobster. Lobster entrees, however, are always on the menu. The inn and restaurant are open all year and the inn suggests reservations for dinner, even for hotel guests. Camden, Maine, is eight miles north of Rockland on Highway 1.
- The Rockland Cafe is open year-round. The cafe has casual dining and serves all-you-can-eat seafood seven days a week. Sandwiches, soup, burgers and salads are also on the menu, along with complete seafood dinners. French fries and coleslaw are standard sides. Rockland Cafe offers a complete breakfast menu, along with a children's menu and desserts. Diners can order mixed drinks, beer and wine only with food after 11 a.m.

The chefs incorporate local fish into an extensive menu of pasta, soups, appetizers and entrees. The restaurant also caters, and has a private dining room that accommodates 30 guests. The main dining room has a capacity of 150. Friday nights Amalfi offers live music and serves microbrewery beer from the Shag Rock Brewing Company.

This restaurant is known for its extensive wine selection and eclectic food. According to an article published in the June 2008 issue of "Inside Maine," the restaurant is one of the few in Rockland with flexible closing hours, especially in the summer season, when it often stays open until 11 p.m.
