Differently Shaped Rooms

  Long and Narrow
  
  If your room is long and narrow, then you will have to be careful how much furniture you put in the space. If you have a TV or Plasma Screen, put it at the end of the room on the smallest wall. This will leave room on both long walls for a sofa and love seat. Put both couches straight across from each other, then at the end of the love seat, angle the recliner toward the TV.
  You can also put a small sectional couch that is "L" shaped along one long wall. On the opposite wall, straight across from the sectional put the recliner, angling it to face the center of the room and TV. This will also leave room for a small coffee table and maybe an end table or two, depending on the exact size size of your room.

  Low and curved Ceilings
  
  If your room has a low or curved ceiling, place sofa and love seat in an "L" shaped pattern, the sofa up against the long wall and the love seat sticking out from the wall and into the room, facing the end of the room. Put an end table in the corner of the two couches. On the opposite side of the sofa on the other long wall, place the recliner. Angle the recliner toward the center of the room. Place TV on wall or in an entertainment center, depending on the wall and space of the wall. Coffee table can be placed in the center of all three pieces if there is room.

  Rooms with a lot of Windows
  
  If your room is large and has a lot of windows, the furniture can be placed toward the center of the room, keeping your pieces from fading as a result of too much direct sunlight. In a room like this you can buy two sofas the same size and place them directly across from each other. Place a coffee table in the middle of them. Then on either end of the sofas, place either one or two recliners, depending on your space, style and need. Angel the recliner(s) in toward the middle where the coffee table is sitting. Do not have the recliner(s) pushed up to the arm or edge of the sofa's, but have them spaced proportionately, with a small end table or standing lamp in between them.
  If your room is small but still has a lot of windows, arrange the furniture similar to what is suggested above, but have them pushed back toward the windows, leaving about a 6-12 inch gap.

  Rooms with Fireplaces
  
  If your room has a fireplace in it, chances are you want the fireplace to be the focal point of the room. Depending on the shape of your room and where the fireplace is located, put either a long sofa or sectional couch at the side that has the longest wall space. This may be to the side of the fireplace or directly across from it, or your room may be a perfect square and in that case it won't matter; either way will work. If it is a sectional or long sofa that you have directly across from the fireplace, place the recliner(s) to the sides of the sofa, spaced with end tables inbetween.
  If the sectional or long sofa is to either side of the fireplace, place the recliner(s) directly across from the sofa.
  You can also put a sofa and love seat in the same position as the sectional would be, with the sofa being either directly across from the fireplace or to the side of it and the love seat branching off the other end, in an "L" shaped fashion. Place the recliner across from the sofa or love seat, depending on which one is not facing the fireplace.

  Small Rooms
  
  If your room is small and there isn't room for an excessive amount of furniture, try two things.
  One, find a small sectional that can be backed up into the corner (as seen in the picture). The recliner can go directly to either end of the sectional depending on where your TV or fireplace are positioned. Then you can place a small square coffee table in the center.
  You can also put one long sofa back up against one wall and the recliner on either end or directly across from the sofa, all depending on where your TV or fireplace are.
  If the room is very small then you can place one love seat up against one wall and the recliner next to it or across from it.
