On December 19, 1999, Jose Luis Trapala was driving on the wrong side of the road in Atlanta, Georgia when he collided with another vehicle, causing it to roll over and eject the passenger. Trapala tried to flee the scene in his vehicle, but it was inoperable. Instead, he fled the scene on foot. He was later charged with vehicular homicide and flight to avoid prosecution.
