How To Breathe New Life Into Your Article Marketing Campaign
When you're doing article marketing to market your website, you need to submit articles consistently every month for the lifetime of your website.
Easier said than done, right?
We all have times when life gets complicated and the marketing of our websites gets pushed to the back burner, but it's important to be able to breathe new life into a campaign that has gone stale.
How do you keep an article marketing campaign going for years at a time?
1) Develop a writing schedule.
You'd be amazed at how much power plain and simple planning can have on your ability to maintain focus with your article submissions.
Right now, decide how many articles you'll submit this month, and put appointments (time and date) on your calendar for each writing session.
Create an article writing schedule at the beginning of each month, and stick to it!
2) Create an article idea list.
Have you ever procrastinated on your writing because you didn't know what you would write about?
You can easily solve that issue by brainstorming article topic ideas ahead of time. Do this at the beginning of the month (or right now), so that when your article writing times arrive, you can just look at your list, pick a pre-decided topic, and then write.
3) Focus on writing articles that are valuable to your readers.
As you're just revving things back up again--keep it simple. Just write quality articles that serve your readers. Don't worry about keywords. Don't worry about SEO stuff at all. Just focus on teaching your readers in your articles.
4) Write an article set.
An article set is a grouping of articles that are related to each other in topic.
Articles sets are easier to write because they are like a series of dominoes--one article leads naturally to the next, so you don't have to rack you brain trying to figure out what to write about next.
Here's and idea for a set:
Subject--The Top 10 Mistakes People Make In [your topic]
For example, mine might be: The Top 10 Mistakes People Make When Article Marketing
Write an article listing the ten mistakes.
Then write an article going in depth on each one of the ten mistakes.
So, that would be 11 articles total off of that one idea--not bad!
5) Educate yourself.
You are bound to be disappointed and give up if you have unreal expectations of your articles and the time frame from which you can expect results. So let's get real, shall we?
Yes, article marketing can produce dramatic and lasting results, but it usually takes a few months to be able to see the impact from your efforts.
Especially when you're just starting to submit articles, there will likely be several months (3-4) when you are not noticing much of a difference. This is normal.
It takes Google and the other search engines 3-4 months to re-calculate incoming links. It will usually take that long for the backlinks you've created to show up for your site. It may take a longer period of time for an increase in backlinks to affect your search engine ranking.
Do not expect to see results right away. Commit to submitting articles consistently over the long term and your perseverance and discipline will be rewarded.
If your article marketing campaign has stalled out, it's time to rev things up again.
The bright side is that when you take a long term view, even brief lapses (or sometimes not so brief!) can easily be rectified by a renewed effort.
