    Selecting Sounds

    • 1). Switch the PA800 on and wait for the main screen to load up. Press the "Full Upper" button, which is in the top right hand corner of the PA800's control panel. To the top right of the display screen there are four rectangular boxes which represent the sounds which are currently loaded up onto your keyboard. To the right of these are boxes which contain the instruments' representative icons. You will notice that the middle two of these four are set on "Mute." This means only one sound is set to play. The lowest of the four instruments is only used when splitting the keyboard into two individual instruments.

    • 2). Touch the top rectangle out of these four. This should by marked "UP1" in the box directly to its right. Ensure that the icon to the left of this label doesn't have "Mute" written on it. If it has, just tap the icon to un-mute the track. When you touch the rectangular icon that displays the instrument's name, you'll be taken to the "Sound Select" screen.

    • 3). Select the type of instrument which you would like from the tabs on the left and right edges of the screen. For example, if you wanted to record a version of "Toccata and Fugue," you would select "Organ." This will bring up the options within that selection in the centre of the screen. Choose whichever takes your fancy and you will be redirected to the main screen with your selection in the "UP1" field.

    • 4). Press the "UP2" or "UP3" boxes to add another sound in. If you take either track off mute, the sound that is selected in that field will combine with your first sound across the entire length of the keyboard. These are selected in the same way as the first track.

    • 5). Press the "Split" button to play two separate sounds on the upper and lower sections of the keyboard. The "Split" button is to the left of the "Full Upper" button. The sound for this is selected using the lowest of the four rectangular boxes onscreen, labeled "Low." To change the split point, touch the "Split" tab in the bottom right of the main screen. This will bring up the "Split Point Panel," which has a split keyboard icon displayed on it. Touch this icon, and then press your desired split point on the keyboard.
