How to Create Custom Bumper Stickers
- 1). Open a new file in your computer's graphic software program. The standard size for a car bumper sticker is 12 by 3 inches. Use these measurements on your new graphic file. Choose a DPI (dots per inch) resolution that coincides with the requirements of the bumper sticker printer you plan to use.
- 2). Select a background color for your bumper sticker. Be aware that full color stickers usually cost more to print and produce than white ones with text. You can also use a graphic for the background of the bumper sticker, such as a pattern, scenery or starburst motif.
- 3). Use the font tool in your software program to select a large, bold style and size for your bumper sticker text. Left justified or centered text works best for bumper stickers. Write the largest text on the graphic file first and then the smaller text. Keep in mind that the words on the bumper sticker should be visible from a distance.
- 4). Design any graphics or pictures you want to include on the bumper sticker. These logos should be clearly visible from a distance and coincide with the saying or topic of your bumper sticker motto. Some bumper stickers are all graphics and no text, using symbols to get the point across.
- 5). Choose a printing company in your local area or one of the many online services. Follow the directions for the particular company to upload your bumper sticker graphic, be sure it is acceptable for the company's quality control, and order printed bumper stickers in whatever quantity you require.
