How to Create New Folders on an iTouch
- 1). Press the "Home" button on your device and unlock it by sliding your finger across the prompt on the screen.
- 2). Tap the "Settings" icon.
- 3). Select the "General" tab from the "Settings" page.
- 4). Tap the "About" tab at the top of the "General" page.
- 5). Locate "Version" on the list that appears.
- 6). Connect the iPod to your PC if the iPod is not running version 4.0 or higher. Insert the USB end into a USB port on your computer. Plug the other end into your Touch.
- 7). Open iTunes if the program fails to launch. ITunes will detect that your device is out-of-date and an update prompt will appear. Click the "Download and Update" button.
- 8). Wait as iTunes updates your device. Disconnect the iPod when the iTunes display at the top of the window reads "OK to Disconnect."
- 1). Navigate to your iPod Touch home screen.
- 2). Tap and hold one of your application icons until it starts to wiggle. This action will trigger all of the app icons on your home screens to wiggle.
- 3). Drag an app icon onto another app icon and drop it. This action will create a folder. When you create a new folder, your iPod will automatically pick a suggested name for the folder. Tap the "X" at the far-right of the name field to discard the suggested folder name. Your keypad will open.
- 4). Name your folder by typing the name you want in the name field. Click "Done."
- 5). Press the "Home" button to lock the app icons back into place.
