India is home to countless tourism attractions located in different states of the country. The state of Rajasthan is one of them, which is one of the largest states in western India. It attracts millions of tourists every years as the state is blessed with Forts & Palaces, Thar Desert, Havelies, Wildlife sanctuaries, National Park, Heritage hotels, sand dunes, cattle fairs, Jain temples, observatories, hill stations and beautiful lakes. It receives large numbers of foreign travelers every year as it is recognized as a culturally rich tourist destination of India. Rajasthan brings colors of historical cities along with joy amongst the people of Rajasthan in various cultural fairs and festivals held here.

Rajasthan is blessed with beautiful cities endowed with countless attractions, which no other states have it all. Cities like Jaipur, Pushkar, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Mount Abu and Jaisalmer making Rajasthan global tourist destinations. Let us describe the tourism of Rajasthan by going through its cities.

Jaipur: The foremost tourist attractions, often called as getaway to the state of Rajasthan.It is popularly known as Pink City of Rajasthan because most of the buildings of Jaipur had been painted in red sand stones making it global attraction. Jaipur is capital city of Rajasthan. It is well connected by all the major cities of north India, located at a distance of 260 km from Delhi and 232 km away from Agra. Combining it with Delhi and Agra makes an India's most famous tourist circuit called Golden Triangle Tour. Main attractions of Jaipur are Amber Fort, Nahargarh Fotr, Observatory, City palace, Hawa Mahal or Wind Palace and beautiful decorated colorful markets.  

Pushkar: It is India's one of the most sacred places and also blessed to have the only temple of Hindu God the  Lord Brahma in Pushkar making it worth seeing pilgrimage. It is just 11 km away from the famous city of Ajmer. Ajmer is renowned for famous Dargah. One can take a dip into the water of Pushkar lake surrounded by Ghats in Pushkar.Pushkar is also famous for its annual cattle fair or Pushkar fair in November.

Bikaner: Bikaner is fifth largest cities of Rajasthan, situated at a distance of 200 miles to North West of Jaipur. It was founded by Rao Bika. It is situated in the middle of Thar Desert, famous for snacks and sweets. Main tourist attractions of Bikaner are Junagarh Fort, Laxmi Niwas Palace, Lalgarh Palace, Laksmi Nath Temples, Karni Mata temple. Camel breading farm house is also visited by many tourist. Renowned Bikaner camel festival is organized by Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan in the month of January every year. 

Jodhpur: Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan, situated at a distance of 335 km west of Jaipur. Jodhpur is very popular tourist destination houses temples, forts and Palaces. It is popularly known as Blue city due to vivid blue painted houses around the Mehrangarh Fort. Jodhpur is a famous tourist destination featuring attractions like Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada and Clock Tower.

Udaipur: It is often called as Lake City of Rajasthan. It is located at 400 km southwest of Jaipur. Udaipur is regarded as one of the most beautiful cities of Rajasthan featuring various attractions such as City Palace, Lake Palace located into the middle of the lake Pichhola, Jag Mandir, Monsoon Palace, Sahelion-ki-Badi, Swaroop Sagar Lake and Fateh Prakash Lake. It is often called as Venice of the East.Most of the Palaces have been converted into the Grand Luxury Hotels. Udaipur has become a favorite wedding spot for celebrities from all over the world.

Jaisalmer: It is popularly known as Golden City of Rajasthan because it stands on a ridge of yellow sandstones. City is crowned by a Fort houses the Palace and various ornate Jain temples. It lies in the heart of Thar Desert. Camel safaris through nearby sand dunes are very famous. Main tourist attractions of Jaisalmer are Jaisalmer Fort, Desert cultural Center & Museum, Jaisalmer Folklore Museum and Gadsisar Lake. Folk music and traditional dances are appreciated by many travelers during fair.
