How to Cut Shasta Daisies

104 12
    • 1). Wait until the Shasta daisy blossoms fade and wither on the plant.

    • 2). Examine the stems of the Shasta daisy under the blossoms, looking for new flower buds. If you find new buds, cut off the stem immediately above the top bud under the fading blossom. If you do not find new buds, cut the stem off just above soil level.

    • 3). Place the stems and faded blossoms into the bucket to collect them. Discard the stems in a compost bin or in the trash. Do not leave any plant refuse around the plant on the soil, because this can encourage disease.

    • 4). Continue to deadhead the Shasta daisy throughout the growing season using the same technique.

    • 5). Cut the entire Shasta daisy down to just above the soil level at the end of the growing season.
