How to Refill Disposable Lighters
- 1). Remove the metal casing around the top of the lighter. Use needle-nosed pliers to loosen the metal casing if you can't pull it off with your hands.
- 2). Pull the sparking wheel and spring out with your hands. The wheel is located directly beneath the casing and rests atop a spring that is on top of the gas valve, which allows the lighter to flame.
- 3). Use the needle-nosed pliers to remove the gas valve. The valve will be at the top of a plastic tube that fits into the plastic lighter. The valve will be snapped into the plastic button that is found on the outside of the lighter and is used for sparking and making a flame. Pulling the valve with the pliers will cause it to pop out.
- 4). Take off the tube that is under the valve and refill the hollow plastic lighter with lighter fluid.
- 5). Reattach the tube and valve to the plastic button. Place the spring back on top of the gas valve and put the sparking wheel back into place on top of the spring.
- 6). Place the metal casing on top of the lighter and try to light the lighter to make sure it works.
