How to Flush a 96 Jeep Cherokee Country
- 1). Remove the coolant pressure bottle cap.
- 2). Place a large drain container under the radiator drain fitting.
- 3). Open the radiator drain fitting with pliers until antifreeze flows from the fitting into the container. Keep the drain open.
- 4). Place the large drain container under the block drain plug on the driver's side of the engine block.
- 5). Unscrew the block drain plug until antifreeze runs from the drain plug into the container.
- 6). Run fresh water from a garden hose into the coolant pressure bottle. Keep running water through the system until nothing but clean water is flowing from the engine block drain plug and radiator drain fitting.
- 7). Close the radiator drain fitting and the engine block drain plug.
- 8). Turn the heater temperature control to the maximum heat position.
- 9). Run the engine until the thermostat opens, leaving the pressure bottle cap removed.

Turn off the Cherokee and let the fluid cool. Add more fluid to the radiator. - 11
Squeeze the upper radiator hose to expel air from the system. - 12
Replace the coolant pressure bottle cap.
