How to Print Variables in a Parameter Query Access

    • 1). Open your Microsoft Access database.

    • 2). Right-click your report. Click "Design View."

    • 3). Click "Text Box" from the "Controls" group. Drag and drop the text box into the header of your report.

    • 4). Click the control to place your cursor in it. Type in the expression to show variables in your Access report:

      =Reports![enter report name]![enter variable phrase]

    • 5). Save your Access report.

    • 6). Double-click your Access report to open it. Your parameter query prompt appears. Enter your search criteria. Click "OK." Access generates a report based on your query variables. In the header, the report shows the variable data you entered to get the report results.

    • 7). Click "File" on the top menu. Choose "Print."
