How to Install Media Center Repair
- 1). Click the "Start" button and type "cmd" into the search box. Press the "Enter" key to open a command prompt window.
- 2). Type "sfc/scannow" and press the "Enter" key. You will see a message appear that says "Beginning system scan. This process will take some time."
- 3). Allow a few minutes for the scan to complete. This process will repair any files that are the incorrect version.
- 1). Click the "Start" button and type "Programs" into the search box. Click the option for "Add or remove programs."
- 2). Scroll through the list and find the entry for Window Media Center.
- 3). Right-click the name and select "Repair" or "Uninstall/Change" from the context menu. Select "Repair Windows Media Center" to repair the program.
- 1). Go to the download page for the cumulative update for Media Center for Windows 7 (see link in Resources).
- 2). Click the "Continue" button and run the validation tool. Go back to the download page and click the "Download" button.
- 3). Save the file to your desktop. Double-click the "Windows6.1KB977863-x64.msu" file to open the file and install the update.
