How to Remove Frost Paint From Glass
- 1). Clean off the window with a household cleaner and wipe off any dirt and debris. Spray water from a spray bottle to coat the the window. Apply window cleaner to the window.
- 2). Mix in a bucket 4 tbsp. of dish washing liquid and 1 gallon of water. Check your professional grade window scraper to ensure that it isn't rusted. Dip the scraper into the dish washing mixture.
- 3). Press lightly against the glass in a 45-degree angle. Scrape the perimeter of the paint before working inside. Choose one type of stroke such as vertical or horizontal strokes to remove the paint. Horizontal stokes work better for wide windows, and vertical stokes are an optimal choice for tall windows. Dip the scraper into the mixture in between each scrape. Lift the blade in between stokes to prevent scratching.
- 4). Apply window cleaner to the window. Squeegee off the cleaner. Stand back to check to see if you have removed all the paint.
- 5). Repeat the above steps for any leftover paint. Wait for the glass to dry before adding a new coat of paint.
