How to Get Rid of Strong Stain Fumes in My House
- 1). Open all the windows you can and, if possible, leave the door open for a little while. Even if it is winter, the fastest way to clear the smell of strong stain fumes is to introduce cross ventilation. The breeze moving into the house from various directions will help to usher the fumes out and bring fresh air in.
- 2). Turn on any fans that you have, especially overhead fans. If possible, this should be done during the staining process as well.
- 3). Light an odorless candle. Place it in the center of the room where the fumes are localized and allow it to burn for three hours.
- 4). Lightly crush wood charcoal into small pieces. Place the crushed charcoal into a bucket along with some wet paper towels or rags. Leave the bucket overnight in the center of the room where the fumes are localized.
- 5). Place a bowl of white vinegar in the center of the area where the stain fumes are localized. Leave it there overnight.
